EXPERIENCE KOREA UNIVERSITY¡¯S

INTERNATIONAL SUMMER CAMPUS 2004!

(JUNE 22 ~ JULY 30, 2004)

http://iie.korea.ac.kr

Korea University (Godae) has revamped its annual six-week, university-level International Summer Campus!

The Institute of International Education at Korea University in Seoul, Korea is offering ALL university students, both undergraduate and graduate, the opportunity to experience the newly revitalized International Summer Campus 2004 program.

Korea University will offer any university student the opportunity to immerse themselves in a global academic and extracurricular network during the summer of 2004.

This year, KU launched its Global KU Project, restructured the Summer Campus program, and established the Institute of International Education.  The current KU vision is to adopt a more global perspective, by inviting distinguished international faculty and opening up the Summer Campus to KU, non-KU Korean, and international students, in contrast to accepting only foreign summer students before.  Currently, KU is the first university in Korea to accept both domestic and international students for a summer program.

The ISC provides an excellent opportunity for students to experience high-quality internationalized instruction, practically and educationally, at KU.  Some of the highlights of this program include:

l        The greatest number of distinguished faculty from prestigious universities in the USA to teach at KU.

l        An increase in the number of courses to 60.

l        Transfer credits possible.

l        Broadened course selection within interdisciplinary departments with a particular emphasis on East Asia, including, history, culture, society, politics, economics, and business management.

l        Internship opportunities in major Korean and multinational corporations.

l        Numerous types of scholarships for all qualifying students.

l        Korean cultural workshops, field trips and lectures with notable experts.

The ISC will initiate for students, an international perspective rooted in a Korean environment, providing cultural immersion, internships, and friendship networks.
